Viacon holds the water at the Sewage Fair 2026
The more severe rainfall events of recent years have left their mark on the sewer industry. This is also noticeable at Viacon A/S, which will be exhibiting at the Sewerage Fair in MESSE C Fredericia on January 29-30.
The Horsens company, which is part of a Swedish group with activities in 14 countries, has in recent years distinguished itself as a key player in rainwater management based on hot-dip galvanized steel solutions - a modern alternative to traditional basins made of concrete or plastic.
- We make Denmark's largest rainwater tanks made of steel. Our hot-dip galvanized steel solutions are characterized by low weight, low installation height and quick installation. At the same time, we document CO2 reductions of 60-75 percent compared to similar concrete tanks., says CEO Kent Hoggins.
A concrete project of 500 cubic meters reduced the climate footprint to less than 15 tons of CO2 - more than halved compared to a conventional solution. The savings correspond to the annual CO2 absorption of approximately 1.200 trees or 120.000 kilometers of driving in a regular passenger car.
The speed of installation also stands out significantly. Hoggins highlights a system that was completed in six hours - where a similar concrete solution typically requires around a week for a four-man crew.
Great need for efficient rainwater management
Although Viacon also provides solutions for bridges, road underpasses and other infrastructure tasks, rainwater management is the company's strongest growth area.
- The increasing and more extreme rainfall amounts mean that the need to store rainwater is greater than ever., says Hoggins.
At the Sewage Fair, Viacon will present, in addition to the well-known steel tanks, an exciting new product: Smart Tank - a system based on hot-dip galvanized steel solutions that can "think for itself" and optimize the use of collected rainwater, for example for watering green areas in residential areas.
Viacon is again this year a sponsor of the Danish Sewerage Championship - a priority the director finds both meaningful and industry-forming.
- It's a great way to support the profession and promote our brand. As a sewer master, I'm proud that we can contribute, he says.
Viacon is providing one of the main prizes at the DM: a trip to one of the group's factories, where the winner, his foreman, a representative from Danish Sewerage Engineers and a representative from Viacon A/S themselves will have the opportunity to see the production up close.
The Sewer Fair occupies a central place in Viacon's annual cycle, not least because it is held in January, when many contractors have time to participate.
- For us, the Sewerage Fair in Fredericia has always been a strong starting point. I have not yet been to a sewerage fair that has not resulted in an order within a month or a month and a half. It is exactly the right target group that comes: sewer masters, supplies, consultants and contractors. We are very much looking forward to the days in Fredericia, states Kent Hoggins.
