Stouby announces readiness for sold-out MESSE C FurnitureFair
One of the country's oldest furniture manufacturers, Stouby Furniture, is looking forward to meeting customers and dealers at the furniture fair in Fredericia.
When FurnitureFair takes place at MESSE C Fredericia on April 27-30, Stouby Furniture is among the many exhibitors looking forward to presenting their range to customers and dealers from Denmark and abroad.
- Among other things, we expect to be able to present a newly developed sofa, and otherwise a wide selection of furniture that sells well at home and abroad., says Carsten Mortensen, CEO and owner of Stouby Furniture, whose history dates back to 1902.
The Jutlanders have chosen to participate with a relatively large stand, and Carsten Mortensen is happy about the start of a new, annual furniture fair in Fredericia.
- I think FurnitureFair is a really good initiative, and we would like to support it. We expect to see a lot of dealers from Jutland and Funen, but also hope that Fredericia's central location can attract some dealers from Zealand. In addition, we are counting on visits from the other Nordic countries and perhaps Northern Germany; we also hope that the organizers will work towards that.
Interest in MESSE C FurnitureFair has been great, and the fair recently reported that it was sold out for exhibitors, even after several expansions of the fair area. According to Carsten Mortensen, this is evidence of an industry that is ready to come together again.
People are hungry for fair activity
- I actually think people are a bit hungry for some trade fair activity, because it has been a bit sporadic in recent years, not least because of corona. The interest from exhibitors also suggests that, he points out and adds, that retailers can look forward to a fair with a wide selection of products and ample opportunity for dialogue with the manufacturers.
- I hope the retailers have a good experience and that they buy some goods for the autumn sale. I also hope they bring employees – here Sunday might be a good day for the smaller stores. It's a good opportunity to invest time in seeing what's going on, and we as exhibitors put a lot of effort into creating a good fair.
Among the current trends in the industry, Carsten Mortensen points to a growing interest in natural materials and locally produced furniture in Denmark and Europe in general.
- Interest in visible wood in furniture is growing, at least for us, and there is an increased focus on natural materials. At the same time, the green agenda is something we are increasingly noticing, including an expectation that furniture should be produced locally or in nearby countries instead of being shipped halfway around the world, says the owner, who is looking forward to the premiere at FurnitureFair 2025.
FAIR C FurnitureFair Fredericia will take place on April 27-30, 2025.
