Revive shows Ronæs Entreprenør's new sustainable sludge vacuum cleaner at the Sewage Fair

When the Sewage Fair 2026 opens its doors in Fredericia, it will include an exhibition of a very special sludge vacuum cleaner, which Ronæs Entreprenør from West Funen has just delivered - built according to a sustainable concept from the Irish company. Revive.

Ronæs Entreprenør in Nørre Aaby has 33 employees and is experiencing increasing demand for sludge suction tasks. The company purchased its first sludge suction truck in 2021 and now has four. The latest addition is a vehicle that combines flexibility, ergonomics and environmental considerations in a way that has not been seen before in Denmark.

- It is complete. custom made to our needs and to the driver, who has been with us all the way through the process - including a trip to Ireland during the build. We have placed emphasis on ergonomics, flexibility and compactness, so that it can work in large cities like Odense. It can handle almost everything in one run, and that saves both time and manpower, says owner Thomas Rasmussen.

Behind the solution is Revive, a five-year-old Irish company that has had great success with 'upcycle older sludge suction systems. 

- We take older, but fully usable sludge suction systems, renovate them from scratch and build them on new trucks, complete with modern hydraulics, controls and equipment. This provides both financial savings and CO2 savings through a large reduction in raw materials. Not least, the large steel tanks are very energy-intensive to produce. The result is a system that appears new, but is far more sustainable, explains Jesper Hejselbæk, director of Revive Nordic.
 

Denmark is the first stepping stone in Europe

The Danish/Scandinavian department - with a service workshop in Greve and soon also in Central Denmark - is intended as Revive's first stepping stone into Europe, says Jesper Hejselbæk, who has more than 30 years of experience in the design and development of sludge suction trucks.

At the fair, both Ronæs Entreprenør and Revive will showcase the new vehicle and share the experiences behind the concept.

- We look forward to meeting sewer masters and contractors and showing that there is a green and flexible alternative to conventional sludge vacuum cleaners, which are becoming more and more standardized. Many companies are currently on the verge of investing in a sludge vacuum cleaner themselves rather than renting capacity, and we would obviously like to talk to them, says Jesper Hejselbæk.

Thomas Rasmussen adds:
- Our driver can hardly contain himself with excitement, and we expect the machine to be operational very soon. It is an important investment for us, and we look forward to putting extra focus on sludge suction trucks at the Sewage Trade Fair - both ours and other truck-mounted sludge suction trucks - because the market is certainly not going to shrink in the future, he states.
