The arrow continues to point up for the Sewer Fair in Fredericia
Even though there is only a little over a year until the next edition of the Sewerage Fair in Fredericia, preparations for the industry's major trade fair are already in full swing.
This is according to exhibition manager Lars Søndergaard from MESSE C, which organizes the exhibition in collaboration with the Danish Sewerage Association.
- Stand sales are in full swing, and we already have the first 65 exhibitors ready on the list for this ninth edition of the fair, which is still characterized by growing pains. For the 2026 edition, we will expand the fair area to cover the majority of our 16.000 square meter Hall A. At the same time, we are setting up some new networking and meeting zones where exhibitors and visitors can discuss product details, new solutions, collaborations or similar in peace and quiet, says Lars Søndergaard.
He adds that the Danish Sewerage Championships, which are a regular and very popular part of the fair, will move into the middle of the area next time. This will partly mean even better exposure for the championships and the talented DM candidates who are working hard in their own 'sandbox', and partly it will give the Danish Sewerage Masters' stand (which is always located near the competition area) a more central location.
An industry with overflowing order books
Although the 2024 edition of the Sewer Fair set a visitor record with just over 4300 guests, the chairman of Danish Sewer Masters is not worried that the ceiling has necessarily been reached.
- We have got a strong forum up and running, which clearly has great value for the industry, so I think the fair can continue to develop. I have spoken to several suppliers who are clearly betting on Fredericia because that is where they get the most value for their participation - and I also believe that the industry is appreciating a very targeted fair, where all visitors are relevant professionals and potential customers, points out chairman Verner H. Kristiansen.
He adds that he sees development opportunities within the exhibition of large sludge suction trucks, which are an important part of the industry, and an even greater focus on working environment and safety equipment for the industry.
According to Verner H. Kristiansen, there is no reason to fear that the sewer masters will have to twiddle their thumbs in the period leading up to the Sewer Fair 2026. They are, among other things, very busy with separating rainwater and wastewater, climate protection, replacing worn-out sewers in private and public areas, and much more.
In addition, a bill is being drafted that will require municipalities to deal with the increasing groundwater challenges. According to analyses, around 450.000 properties in Denmark could be affected by a high groundwater table.
- I don't know of any colleagues who don't have plenty to do. But that's precisely why a visit to the Sewerage Fair can be worth its weight in gold, so that we gain knowledge, inspiration, knowledge of the latest equipment and the smartest solutions, concludes Verner H. Kristiansen.
